<strong>Job Description<br><br></strong><strong>Section:</strong> Roads Operations<br><br><strong>Division:</strong> Linear Infrastructure Services<br><br><strong>Department:</strong> Community Infrastructure<br><br><strong>Initial Reporting Location:</strong> Frobisher Depot<br><br><strong>Job Status:</strong> Permanent Position<br><br><strong>Number of Vacancies:</strong> 1<br><br><strong>Affiliation: </strong>CUPE 4705 Outside Unit<br><br><strong>Hours of Work:</strong> 80 hours bi-weekly<br><br><strong>Shift Work Required:</strong> Yes (shift work may be required)<br><br><strong>Rate of Pay:</strong> $37.10 per hour<br><br><strong>The start date will follow the selection process.<br><br></strong><strong>Characteristic Duties:</strong> Under the supervision of a Citywide Superintendent.<br><br><ul><li> Co-ordinate the activities of the Line Painting crews and the sign shop crews and authorize employee crew cards.</li><li> Assess the work areas and determine which methods/activities are required as per the M.M.M.S. guidelines.</li><li> Provide general supervision and direction of the activities of work crews engaged in line painting operations and activities of the sign shop as per the M.M.M.S. guidelines.</li><li> Meet with Utilities for appropriate locates.</li><li> Maintain control of all sign stock.</li><li> Document all sign installation and maintenance for CGS.</li><li> Meet with departments for various sign installations.</li><li> Monitor the approved budgets for line painting and sign shop activities, reporting any variances to supervision.</li><li> Oversee the 4 x 4 plowing and the bus stop snow removal operations.</li><li> Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.</li><li> Perform other related duties as required.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li> Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.</li><li> Completion of a college diploma in a related field considered an asset.</li><li> Minimum five (5) years experience with line painting maintenance equipment and activities; and with sign shop maintenance equipment and activities.</li><li> Proven experience in the supervision of crews engaged in line painting maintenance and sign shop activities.</li><li> Capable of overseeing 4 x 4 plowing and bus stop snow removal.</li><li> Ability to exercise appropriate judgement for assignments within the M.M.M.S. guidelines.</li><li> Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.</li><li> S atisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.</li><li> May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business.
