Senior Character Artist

We first made our mark with Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, a multi-million copy selling title that redefined melee combat in gaming. Since then, we’ve continued to grow and innovate, releasing Chivalry 2 and, most recently, No More Room in Hell 2, currently in Early Access. Today, our team of around 100 developers is dedicated to creating unique, challenging, and fun gaming experiences.</p><p><br></p><p>As a Senior Character Artist at a mid-size independent studio, you’ll have a wide range of responsibilities from creating art, communicating with production, facilitating feedback, and working with other team members to execute the vision for the games we make.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>See characters through from conception to completion.</li><li>Produce high-quality 3D characters, weapons, and customization assets for AAA titles.</li><li>Work closely with the Production, Environment, Animation, and other artists to bring the concepts to life.</li><li>Plan, estimate and prioritize time frames for the completion of tasks while tracking progress.</li><li>Collaborate with other artists to help define best practices and workflows.</li><li>Help identify and fix bugs, including performance and budget issues. </li><li>Implement and incorporate feedback from Director and Leads into work. </li><li>Work with the team to achieve the desired level of aesthetic quality and technical targets. </li><li>Participate in brainstorming and concept development sessions, contributing fresh ideas and innovative approaches.</li><li>Share input towards problem-solving and creative challenges in ways that leverage personal experience.</li><li>Provide mentorship to more junior artists.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>An exceptional portfolio of work that exemplifies the creation of high-quality character art.</li><li>6+ years of professional game development experience.</li><li>Experience developing AAA titles on PC and/or console.</li><li>Expert knowledge of game character development processes, from sculpting to retopology, baking, UVs, texturing, etc.</li><li>Strong awareness and execution of human anatomy.</li><li>Basic understanding of rigging and skinning for animation.</li><li>Excellent communication, time-management, and organizational skills.</li><li>Ability to provide an in-depth critique with visual observation skills.</li><li>Ability to work under tight deadlines.</li><li>Personally motivated, constructive energy.
