SAIT Dining Centre Manager (Maternity Leave Coverage)
The Hotel Arts Group is currently looking for a <strong>Dining Centre Manager</strong> for <strong>SAIT . </strong>We are looking for someone who will consistently provide quality and production for 200+ students and faculty daily in an organized and effective manner.<br><br><strong>Job Description<br><br></strong>Do you have a passion for hospitality that goes beyond the ordinary? Are you who we are looking for?<br><br>The Dining Centre Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Front of House for Begin Dining Hall.<br><br>This position will create/maintain systems and procedures to ensure cleanliness and organization; assist fellow managers in problem solving. Support staff during service and act as a liaison between FOH, BOH, and guests as necessary.<br><br>Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:<br><br><ul><li>Be the leader and support for the front-line staff.</li><li>Work with, and support, the General Manager.</li><li>Create and maintain checklists for opening and closing duties.</li><li>Will model best practices for staff and set tone during service.</li><li>Will be friendly, calm, and efficient.</li><li>Will take a lead role in resolving problems including (unresolved) customer complaints, staff disputes, facilities maintenance, supply runs, and general emergencies.</li><li>Will promote and maintain a "Service Ready" leadership style.</li><li>Will represent Hotel Arts and SAIT with a “Class and Care” attitude that is felt by students and staff in every situation.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>3 years’ previous successful supervisory role in a fast-paced environment: large volume or cafeteria experience is preferred.</li><li>Must show creativity, enthusiasm, have high energy levels and be self motivated.</li><li>Strong communication skills.</li><li>Previous successful hands-on experience with training of new employees and building new teams.</li><li>Ability to remain clam and positive in high tempo, difficult stressful situation.</li><li>Must be able lift, pull, push up to 50 lbs. and stand for 8+ hours/day.</li><li>Be a strong team player, stepping in to assist when necessary.</li><li>Ability to fluently communicate in verbal and written English. </li><li>Valid Food Handing Safety & Sanitation Certificate required.</li><li>High School Diploma.</li><li>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Exchange, Word, Excel).</li><li>Open and flexible availability for scheduling.<br><br></li></ul><strong>To learn more about Hotel Arts, please visit our website at: www.hotelarts.ca<br><br></strong><strong>To learn more about SAIT, please visit their website at: www.sait.ca<br><br></strong><strong>Applicants who do not already have legal permission to work in Canada will not be considered.<br><br></strong><strong>Please be advised that only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.<br><br></strong><strong>Hotel Arts Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</strong>
