Fleet Service Person

Grande Prairie is a great place to live, work, and play.<br><br>Our Fleet Management Department is looking for a dedicated Fleet Service Person to join the team.<br><br><strong>Position Responsibilities<br><br></strong>The Fleet Service Person performs a wide variety of tasks related to the servicing, maintenance, and minor repair of City vehicles and equipment. This role supports Fleet operations by ensuring vehicles are serviced efficiently, safely, and in accordance with scheduled maintenance plans. The position contributes to the overall reliability and readiness of the City's fleet.<br><br><ul><li>Maintain service schedules for City vehicles and equipment as assigned by the Maintenance Planner, Lead hand, or Operations Supervisor.</li><li>Perform minor mechanical repairs including replacement of windshield wiper blades, bulbs/lamps, filters, pull ropes, tine replacements, etc.</li><li>Perform tire repairs, replacements, and installations.</li><li>Assist with fueling and washing of vehicles and equipment.</li><li>Install vehicle and equipment signage and decals.</li><li>Ensure vehicles are properly stored after servicing.</li><li>Service external agency vehicles as required.</li><li>Maintain a clean and organized work area daily.</li><li>Complete service records and logs accurately and in a timely manner.</li><li>Communicate vehicle issues or delays to the Maintenance Planner or Lead hand.</li><li>Promote positive employee/employer relations.</li><li>Foster effective working relationships within Fleet and with other City departments and the public.</li><li>Support continuous improvement efforts within Fleet Services.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong>Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in the maintenance of a diverse fleet, including:<br><br><ul><li>Heavy-duty trucks and trailers.</li><li>Heavy equipment such as graders, loaders, and excavators.</li><li>Small engine equipment, including ATVs, generators, and lawn maintenance tools.</li><li>Automotive vehicles, with experience in preventive maintenance.</li><li>Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently, follow safety protocols, and maintain accurate service records. </li><li>Experience with fleet management systems and regulatory compliance is considered an asset.</li><li>High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Valid Alberta Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brake endorsement (minimum requirement).</li><li>Current First Aid Certificate.</li><li>Proficiency in software programs such as Outlook, Fleet Management Systems (FMS), and electronic timecard systems.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Hours<br><br></strong>The standard workweek consists of an average of 40 hours, with the specific schedule being determined by the immediate supervisor.<br><br><strong>Compensation<br><br></strong>Starting salary $38.18 per hour as per the CUPE Collective Agreement.<br><br><strong>Benefits<br><br></strong>Comprehensive benefits package.
