Job Title: Manager - Pottery Painting Studio

Company Overview:
Busy Brushes is a small, independent pottery painting studio where people of all ages can come to relax and express their creativity.

Position Details:

Availability: Must be available weekends and some flexible weekday shifts

Hours: 15 - 25 hours/week depending on season

Compensation: $20 - 22/hour (based on experience) + tips + studio discounts

Location: Peterborough, ON (in-person only)

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is friendly, dependable, and eager to grow with a small, creative business. They bring strong customer service skills, a proactive attitude, and are comfortable stepping into leadership.

This role begins with hands-on training across all studio tasks; from glazing and firing to hosting workshops and managing bookings, with the goal of gradually taking on more responsibility.

We're looking for someone who sees themselves here long-term, growing into a key part of the studio’s future. Bonus if you’ve worked with ceramics, Canva/social media, or booking systems, but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Experience:

  • Greet and assist guests of all ages through the pottery painting process
  • Create a friendly, inclusive, and relaxed atmosphere
  • Handle payments, bookings, and customer questions
  • Run birthday parties and special events

Studio Operations:

  • Set up and clean up painting stations
  • Glaze pottery and load/unload kiln (training provided)
  • Maintain inventory and studio organization
  • Open and close the studio independently

Leadership & Growth:

  • Help create and maintain operational systems (cleaning, scheduling, supply tracking, etc.)
  • Learn back-end aspects of running the studio
  • Take on increasing leadership over time, with growth into a management role within the next year

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
