Accounting Analyst – GDS Affiliates

Duration: 1 year Contract
- HYBRID Model – 3 days onsite 2 days remote each week
Accounting & Technical Research
Perform complex accounting and accounting research analysis for the GDS Affiliates finance group.
Lead efforts to identify, resolve, and escalate potential accounting issues to ensure timely resolution and accurate financial information in external filings.
Prepare technical accounting memos and analyses in accordance with US GAAP.Liaise with enterprise-wide groups to communicate accounting conclusions and ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
Review contracts prior to execution to assess and document accounting implications.
Maintain a current working knowledge of US GAAP, staying abreast of new standards and their impact on the company.
Financial Reporting & Close
Prepare and/or review reporting schedules to support quarterly and annual external financial filings and internal management reporting.
Assist with the month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial results.
Support the external financial reporting process, including footnote disclosures and supporting documentation.
Ensure all reporting aligns with corporate accounting policies and controls.
Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement
Ensure internal controls and processes are properly maintained to achieve SOX compliance.
Monitor and ensure adherence to affiliate cost recovery processes and ARC compliance.
Identify opportunities for process and system improvements; lead or assist with implementation of enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Participate in or lead special projects, ad hoc analyses, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
Budgeting & Forecasting Support
Provide oversight and support for GDS affiliate operating and capital budgets and forecasts.
Collaborate with finance and business partners to ensure timely and accurate budget and forecast submissions.
Communication & Business Partnership
Synthesize complex accounting issues and clearly communicate impacts and recommendations to management.
Build effective relationships with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and ensure alignment on accounting matters.
Qualifications & Experience
Professional Designation:
CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) required.
Experience:
Minimum of 4+ years of directly related accounting experience.
Background:
Experience in Public Practice Accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier firm preferred).
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding and practical application of US GAAP.
Experience in technical accounting and accounting research.
Proficiency with Oracle, SAP, and Hyperion SmartView.
Experience in external financial reporting roles.
Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
Preferred Attributes
Experience with SEC filings or large multinational corporate reporting.
Exposure to IFRS is an asset.
Demonstrated success in process improvement and systems optimization initiatives.
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
